Why was Generic Zyprexa available in Canada 4 years before the U.S?
Generic Zyprexa became available in the USA in the fall of 2011, but prices are still dramatically cheaper in Canada.
On July 3rd 2007, distribution began in Canada of a generic version of Zyprexa. Olanzapine, the generic name for Zyprexa is used primarily in the treatment of schizophrenia, manic depression and bi polar disorder.
The availability of Olanzapine in Canada is the result of a ruling on June 5th 2007 by The Honorable Justice Mr. Robert T. Hughes in Canadian Federal Court.
From May 14th to May 23rd 2007 in Ottawa, Ontario (Canada’s capital city), Eli Lilly Canada Inc. appeared in court attempting to stop Novopharm Limited, one of Canada’s largest generic pharmaceutical manufacturing companies from making Olanzapine. Eli Lilly, the patent holder for Zyprexa in Canada, also asked the court that The Minister of Health for Canada not be allowed to issue a "Notice of Compliance" to Novopharm. A Notice of Compliance is required by all drug companies in Canada for each new product, before they can begin manufacturing and distribution it.
In his decision, Judge Hughes said that Eli Lilly had "not demonstrated" that Novopharm was infringing on Eli Lilly’s Zyprexa patent. Judge Hughes ruled in favor of Novopharm allowing them to begin producing Olanzapine and also said that Eli Lilly would be responsible for paying all court costs of Novopharm in this case. There where also references in the decision which ultimately allowed ApotexInc, another Canadian generic pharmaceutical manufacturer to begin production and distribution of Olanzapine. This favorable ruling for users of Zyprexa follows a similar outcome in German Patent Court where Eli Lilly lost its battle against German generic pharmaceutical manufacturer Egis-Gyogyszergyar, paving the way for generic Zyprexa in Germany.
Eli Lilly was successful in defending its patents in US Appeals Court in December of 2006 which will allow it to hold a monopoly on Zyprexa in the U.S. until 2011. Zyprexa was Lilly’s top selling drug in 2006 with world wide sales of $4.36 billion! How much of that do you think went into the wrong pockets?

How Do I Order my Generic Zyprexa?
The ordering process is simple. You are required to have a prescription from your doctor. We do require that a "Health Profile" be filled out and returned to us with your prescription. The health profile can be filled out and submitted online, printed from our site and faxed back to us, or we can mail forms out to you. Why should I order from Canada?

Why do some drugs have different names in Canada?
These are trade or brand names registered by the manufacturer. In different countries manufacturers will often use different trade names. The medications have the same active ingredients, but may look different and have a different trade name. (For example Prilosec (U.S.) and Losec (Canada), or Augmentin (U.S.) and Clavulin (Canada)).

What is the difference between a brand name drug and a Generic drug?
A generic drug is a medication for which the original manufacturer has lost patent protection. Because of this, other manufacturers are allowed to produce and sell the exact medication at a lower more competitive price. The generic drug is the exact same medication as the original brand name drug, simply made by another company. Due to strict regulations on the generic drug industry, these drugs must provide the same therapeutic effect as the brand name drug.

Why can CheapOlanzapine.com only fill a prescription for a maximum of 3 months?
Due to regulations put into place by the FDA, American citizens are only allowed to import a maximum of 3 months worth of medication for personal use. Any amount above this 3 month limit is not considered "personal use".

Is there a limit on how much I can buy?
Yes, you may purchase only a maximum of a 3 month supply of each of your medications, provided that you have a valid prescription for that supply of medication. If your physician writes a prescription for more than a 3 month supply then we can fill those refills as they come due.

Will you accept my insurance policy?
Unfortunately, the insurance plans are not set up to accept claims from a Canadian pharmacy. You will be issued a receipt with your prescription that you may submit to your insurance company, but there are no guarantees whether you can be reimbursed or not.

We have to contact your doctor or pharmacy to get a copy of the prescription. Sometimes your local pharmacy or doctor may not get back to us right away, and this will therefore slow down the process. It helps if you are able to speak to your doctor or pharmacist to remind them to send out a copy of your prescription as soon as possible.
Your credit card information is inaccurate or incomplete. Always ensure that you copy down your credit card information accurately, and ensure that all the fields are completed when filling in our on-line forms.

What is your return policy?
All of our prescriptions are filled in the province of British Columbia, and as such we must follow all applicable laws. The law states: The Pharmacist shall not accept the return for use or re-use of any portion of any drug or non-prescription medication.
